I was covered by VSP by my past employer and when Covid presented the opportunity for me to "ease into retirement", I opted to continue w/ VSP coverage on my own. (I believe that I have a "basic" plan that I pay $11.20/month for and in my book, it's well worth it!) I'm a long-time patient of an excellent eye doctor here in Tampa, FL and I wanted to continue that relationship because I wear bi-focal, gas permeable contact lenses and those, as well as the cost of an eye exam, have both become rather expensive! Without VSP, the financial burden would be too much to bear. Eye health is very important to me and VSP allows me to be able to afford and continue to receive the necessary care.
I love VSP!! I need bifocals which cost me almost $1000 without insurance, all I had to pay was less than $100 plus I added transitional lenses. I've had VSP for several years, and I would recommend them to everyone.

I've been using VSP now for about 5 or 6 years and they've been absolutely amazing. I've been wearing glasses for 35 years and the past years with VSP has changed everything for my eyes. I didn't know what to expect with access to Optometrist and was beyond surprised with the Optometrist in their network. As a matter of fact, the last two Optometrist I've had while using VSP has been the greatest level of care and diagnosis in the past 35 years of wearing glasses. I have an astigmatism and keratoeonus, so the lenses I need are special and more expensive than the average lens. VSP allows me to get the best lenses available so I can see as clear as possible at an affordable price. I've recommended VSP to several friends and they started using them and couldn't be happier.

Like another reviewer, I was skeptical when an optometrist recommended VSP coverage. I asked him what the catch was, and he said there wasn’t a catch. After years of paying high prices for necessary eyewear, I decided I would try it for a year, and this small investment saved me about $500 right off the bat! I was so happy, I purchased VSP coverage for another family and we just renewed our plans. My employer does offer coverage, but it does not compare to VSP. I highly recommend this coverage to anyone, whether they need prescription eyewear or not.

I retired over two years ago and lost my vision plan. I could have kept it; however, the cost was too much for the substandard policy. I did my research, and found VSP.
